XRdoge — From Meme Coin to Green Coin.
XRdoge has announced a brand new utility project. It is going from meme coin to green coin.
Since it burst onto the scene last year, XRdoge has already added utility to its memetics — a web payment portal and DEX interface. Now XRdoge is tapping into one of the fastest growing crypto markets — the green revolution.
Already running on the XRP Ledger, an eco-friendly carbon-neutral blockchain, the team wanted to take this even further.

XRdoge is transforming into the green meme coin. The new green utility project will provide businesses and householders with an easy interface for getting involved with the exciting and vital world of carbon offsetting. Using an innovative, patent-pending hardware device, with XRdoge as the intermediary utility token, the customer will be able to transfer real world value and offset their carbon footprint.

When asked why XRdoge decided to build their cryptocurrency on the XRP Ledger network, Raymond Thompson said:
The XRP Ledger network is already one of the fastest and greenest crypto networks. It is a carbon-neutral blockchain, in stark contrast to that of Bitcoin and Ethereum. This made it the perfect network for XRdoge to help bring about the green revolution.
XRdoge is already running on a carbon-neutral blockchain, but we wanted to take this a step further with our hardware project and allow ourselves to make a bigger positive impact on the world.
Why is the XRP Ledger eco-friendly?
The XRP Ledger processes transactions through a unique “consensus” mechanism that consumes negligible energy and all XRP currency is already in circulation.
Other digital assets such as Bitcoin rely on a different mechanism to both validate transactions and create new coins. This “proof-of-work” algorithm requires “mining.” Mining is an incredibly energy-intensive process for validating transactions that consume more energy in a year than some entire countries — for example, the energy used to run Bitcoin is more than the entirety of Portugal. For Ethereum it is the size of a city. For the XRPL it is the size of a village. The remainder is offset through energy attribute certificates (EACs) from renewable energy assets, with the result being net zero emissions.
Adopting the XRP Ledger more broadly will help limit this waste and ensure a sustainable future for our planet and global economy.
